Social Media Short: On Physical Violence and Oppressive Systems

In all of the gospels, which are the scriptures through which the Word of God is described to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth, who is the Word of God incarnate, Jesus never socially oppresses, physically assaults, or kills anyone, regardless of their offense.

Physical violence and oppressive social systems are the antithesis of Christian teaching, faith, and a Christ-like life.

In fact, each gospel undoubtedly shows that physical violence and oppressive social systems are the means through which self-serving people whose power was threatened by the Word of God, which would have us constantly relinquish wealth and power to bring about flourishing for all instead of a few, killed Jesus of Nazareth and sought to bring an end to the reality of the Kingdom of God on Earth.
